Funded Schemes - Street Scape Enhancement Scheme - The Future For The Scheme Tregaron Heritage Scheme
The aim of the Tregaron Heritage Scheme is “to improve the appearance of the town and to attract visitors and stimulate economic activity and employment”. To this end, much needed improvements of the pedestrian provision in the town centre was considered essential. A streetscape enhancement scheme including the provision of disabled crossing points, the undergrounding of service provision equipment and cables and the provision of new street lighting equipment was undertaken around the small square of the town – which is the thoroughfare for traffic through the town. An improvement scheme was carried out around the main square in the 1990’s and the small square scheme was designed to replicate much of that scheme. A further phase of enhancement is due in 2007 to link the two squares to create an unified whole. The Scheme is financed by the following :-
